OTE: Approximately £40,000

The opportunity
Wilkins Financial Services is looking for an experienced Protection Adviser to join its established team in Tamworth.
Working alongside Wilkins Estate Agents and the company’s mortgage advisers, you will receive a regular supply of customers requiring professional protection advice. The business expects to provide approximately seven to ten opportunities each week.
This is a protection-only position, allowing you to focus on understanding customers’ circumstances, identifying their protection needs and recommending suitable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Providing suitable and compliant protection advice to new and existing customers
• Contacting customers referred by mortgage advisers and estate agency teams
• Conducting comprehensive protection fact-finds and needs assessments
• Advising on life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection
• Explaining policy features, costs, benefits and exclusions clearly
• Preparing suitable recommendations based on each customer’s circumstances
• Managing applications from the initial consultation through underwriting to policy commencement
• Liaising with insurers and customers to progress applications
• Following up supplied opportunities promptly and professionally
• Maintaining accurate customer and compliance records
• Identifying opportunities for additional and future protection reviews
• Building long-term relationships that generate repeat business and referrals
• Delivering an excellent customer experience throughout the advice process

About you
We would like to hear from candidates who:

• Have previous experience providing regulated protection advice
• Hold the relevant qualifications and permissions to advise on protection products
• Have achieved the appropriate competent adviser status
• Possess a strong understanding of life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection
• Are confident converting estate agency and mortgage-related referrals
• Can discuss sensitive financial circumstances professionally
• Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Are organised and capable of managing a busy pipeline
• Deliver consistently high standards of customer service and compliance
• Are comfortable working from the Tamworth office
• Work effectively alongside mortgage advisers and estate agency colleagues
